This site is a tribute to Martyn, cherished dad of Leah, Nyla and Dexter, dearly loved husband of Lydia, treasured son of Anne and Nick, much missed brother of Johanna and Uncle of Jess and Liam. Martyn will be sadly missed by all that knew him and fondly remembered. 

My dad was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in his 20s, but he never let it stop him from living life to the fullest. He embraced every opportunity and truly lived his best life. Tragically, in May 2024, Dad was admitted to A&E with a suspected bowel blockage, which led to surgery for a bowel resection and the fitting of an ileostomy bag. Following a biopsy on the section of bowel that was removed, Dad was diagnosed with metastatic small bowel adenocarcinoma.

Despite facing this aggressive form of cancer, Dad always fought with incredible determination, just as he had always battled his Crohn’s. Sadly, after a short but extremely hard fight, he passed away at East Cheshire Hopsice on October 3, 2024. We are incredibly proud of his strength and courage, not only in facing cancer but in how he lived his life while enduring Crohn’s disease. His resilience and spirit will always be an inspiration to us.
